Soccer, Football, The World Game, The Beautiful Game (our favourite)… it doesn’t matter what you call it; Soccer is one of the truly great sports in the world. In terms of being a fantastic spectacle that everyone should go to at least once in their lifetime, a great soccer match must be right up there for ours here at Total Sports Travel. The pure elation that you experience when your favourite team *finally* scores after going scoreless in a 0-0 deadlocked match is hard to describe and can perhaps only be matched in intensity by the nerve racking minutes following the goal as the opposition team goes on an all-out assault to in a desperate bid to stay in the match.
The FIFA World Cup is the pinnacle of this great sport and always delivers contests that are memorable for so many different reasons. Just ask anyone who watched the Australia vs Japan match about their change in emotions as the Aussies went from almost succumbing to defeat to to 3-1 winners in the final 5 minutes of the match. However, maybe don’t ask about their thoughts on the Italy game which happened later on in the tournament…
